Sad Sunday: the cinema legend has just passed away, he was 77 years old…

Daniel Beretta, known for being the French voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger, passed away at the age of 77. On Instagram, his friend Jean-Luc Reichmann paid him a touching tribute.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has lost his French voice. The actor known for his many films including Double Détente (1988), Total Recall (1990), Last Action Hero (1993), True Lies (1994), the Terminator saga (1984) and Expendables (2010) was dubbed by Daniel Beretta. Sadly, the 77-year-old died earlier this week in Ajaccio, in South Corsica. A death that comes just a few weeks after the death of Alain Dorval who was the French voice of Sylvester Stallone. Sad news that was announced by his friend Michel Vigné on Facebook: “A friend, a brother, a buddy… Hi my Daniel, I kiss you.”

Daniel Beretta was not only the French voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger. He also dubbed Ernie Hudson but also Rutger Hauer and Alan Rickman. Then, he was the voice of Lumière in the cartoon Beauty and the Beast, released in 1991, and of the mayor in The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993). In addition, he distinguished himself as an actor and played in A Wild Summer (1970), In the Dust of the Sun (1972), The Predators of the Night (1988) and Cyrano de Bergerac (1990), to name a few. Not to mention that since its creation in 1999, he was the French voice of the catchphrase of the American series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
