The royal family shared the terrible diagnosis last February. King Charles III is suffering from cancer, detected following a prostate operation. It is a chemotherapy treatment that the sovereign has been following for several weeks. And for the first time, the king raised the subject publicly during an official visit.
This is an announcement that no one expected. On February 5, Buckingham Palace revealed in a press release that King Charles was suffering from cancer. The disease was detected during an operation the monarch underwent for an enlarged prostate. The nature of the illness was not specified but chemotherapy treatment was directly administered to William and Harry’s father, with the aim of curing it.Long weeks of silence followed this announcement, punctuated by a few brief appearances by Charles and Camilla to attend Sunday masses at Sandringham. We will then not know more about the illness, with the exception of the cancer which also affects Kate and which was announced through a video by the Princess of Wales published on March 22.
It seems that the state of health of King Charles III is nevertheless improving. Camilla Parker Bowles’ husband has returned to royal duties, after putting pressure on his staff. Chemotherapy publicly mentioned by Charles for the first time
It’s been a long time since William and his father Charles III met face-to-face for an official outing. The king officially handed over to his son the role of colonel-in-chief of the Army Air Corps (a position held by Harry until his departure from the royal family) in front of the other soldiers on the base. One of them, veteran Aaron Mapplebeck, spoke very intimately with Charles as reported by The Sun.
He too went through the illness box. Affected by cancer, he underwent nine weeks of intensive chemotherapy just last year to treat testicular cancer. A year after his treatment ended, he spoke about the side effects the protocol can have on a person. He notably revealed that the loss of taste was part of it.
