Ingredients:
1-inch piece of fresh turmeric root
1-inch piece of fresh ginger root
1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon of honey (optional)
1 cup of cold water or coconut water
Pinch of black pepper (optional, enhances turmeric absorption)
Instructions:
Prepare the Roots:
Peel the fresh turmeric and ginger roots using a vegetable peeler or a spoon to scrape off the skin. Be careful when handling turmeric, as it can stain your hands or countertops. You may want to wear gloves or use a paper towel to wipe your hands afterward.
Juicing:
Cut the turmeric and ginger into small pieces and place them into a juicer. If you don’t have a juicer, you can blend the pieces with a cup of water or coconut water to make a smooth mixture.
Strain (if needed):
If you used a blender, strain the juice using a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the pulp, leaving behind the smooth, golden liquid.
