Not only did I experience a noticeable boost in my energy levels, but I also discovered a new way to satisfy my sweet cravings with healthier alternatives. One of my go-to options became a simple yet incredibly satisfying seed-based dessert that is not only sugar-free but also packed with essential nutrients. This dessert has helped me curb my sweet tooth without the dreaded sugar crash, providing sustained energy and nourishment throughout the day. In this article, I’ll share the recipe for this go-to treat and explain how cutting out sugar made a significant difference in my energy levels.

Ingredients

1/4 cup chia seeds
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
1/4 cup ground flaxseeds
1/4 cup unsweetened almond butter (or any nut butter of your choice)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for a touch of sweetness)
Pinch of sea salt
Water (as needed for consistency)
Instructions

Prepare the Seed Mixture:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the chia seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and ground flaxseeds. Stir well to distribute the seeds evenly.
Melt the Wet Ingredients:

In a small saucepan, melt the coconut oil over low heat. Once melted, add the almond butter, raw cacao powder, and vanilla extract. Stir continuously until everything is well combined and smooth. If you prefer a sweeter taste, add a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:

Pour the melted mixture into the bowl with the seeds. Stir everything together until the seeds are fully coated in the wet ingredients. The mixture should be sticky but not runny. If it’s too thick, add a small amount of water to reach your desired consistency.
