A 4-year-old boy is seriously injured at the Foire du Trône

” Call the fire department”
The aunt does not stop there in her explanations. She adds that despite her cries, the ride did not stop. “Call the fire department ! We are all splashed with blood, the little one is screaming.” She adds “The staff who were there remain in a state of shock, no one moves”. It was the aunt who managed to get her great-nephew out of the machine. Just afterward, a plainclothes firefighter who was at the Foire du Trône arrived on the scene to provide first aid to the young boy. The little boy was transported by civil protection to hospital for treatment. The diagnosis announced that nerves, arteries and a finger had been severed. The boy underwent an autotransplantation of his finger. The little boy’s family decided to file a complaint against this attraction for unintentional injury. The 12th arrondissement police station was put in charge of this case in order to establish the causes.

The fairgrounds are saddened for the little boy
According to representatives of the Foire du Trône, the safety commission, which is in liaison with the prefecture which is responsible for verifying European standards, would have verified this ride shortly before the boy’s incident. They reportedly found nothing wrong and the ride still works. The people who represent the park say that this ride runs twelve hours a day and that it is a new attraction. This is its first start-up since its manufacture which took place in Italy. “It’s a dramatic accident. The fairgrounds are very sad for the child and his family” confides Frédéric Papet who is part of the park’s communications department. He adds “it’s a very rare accident”. “It shouldn’t happen but fortunately, extremely rare.” According to Frédéric Papet, at each edition of the Foire du Trône, there are three million visitors. He estimates that during the two months that the Throne Fair lasts, there would be around twenty million rides on the carousel.
