Authentic Georgian Khachapuri: Cheesy Bread Delight

Introduction:
Khachapuri is a traditional Georgian dish that combines a soft, fluffy bread with a rich, gooey cheese filling. This comfort food classic is beloved across the Caucasus and beyond for its irresistible flavor and satisfying texture. Whether served as a snack, appetizer, or main course, Khachapuri is a showstopper on any table.

Ingredients:

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon sugar

2 teaspoons active dry yeast

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup warm water (about 110°F)

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup crumbled feta cheese

1 egg (optional, for topping)

Butter (for brushing, optional)

Instructions:

In a bowl, dissolve the sugar and yeast in warm water. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.

Add flour and salt to a large mixing bowl. Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix and knead the dough for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).

In a separate bowl, combine mozzarella and feta cheeses.
