Bites of Apple Fritter

Ground rules:

Set the oven temperature to 400°F. Prepare a baking sheet by lightly spraying it with nonstick cooking spray.

Mix together the salt, cinnamon, baking soda, and flour in a medium-sized bowl.

Combine the sugar and melted butter in a big basin and mix until well combined. Whisk in the applesauce, vanilla, and egg until combined.

Just blend the dry ingredients with the wet liquid by stirring them in. The chopped apples should be gently folded in.

With a few inches of space between each spoonful, place the batter on the baking sheet that has been preheated.

After ten minutes in the oven, remove from the heat and increase the broiler setting to high.

The glaze is made by beating powdered sugar with cider or apple juice until it becomes pourable.

While the fritter pieces are still hot, brush the glaze over them, letting some glaze fall down the edges. While stirring the pan occasionally, broil for two to four minutes, or until the glaze begins to boil and caramelize.

After taking the fritters out of the oven, liberally brush them with the remaining glaze.

Allow the glaze to set for fifteen minutes before serving.
