No one wants pests invading their home, but using harsh chemicals to control them can be harmful to both your health and the environment. Fortunately, there are a variety of natural pest control remedies that are not only effective but also safe for your family and pets. From repelling insects to keeping rodents at bay, these simple and eco-friendly solutions offer a safer, greener alternative to chemical-based pest control. In this guide, we’ll explore some of the best natural remedies to help you keep your home pest-free without compromising your health or the planet.

Ingredients:
For Insect Repellents:

10-15 drops of essential oils (peppermint, lavender, lemon, eucalyptus, or citronella)
1 cup of water
1 tablespoon of witch hazel or rubbing alcohol
For Ant Control:

1 tablespoon of borax
1/2 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of water
A few cotton balls or a shallow container for bait
For Rodent Repellents:

10-15 drops of peppermint oil (or any strong-smelling essential oils like eucalyptus or citronella)
Cotton balls or cloth pieces
For Fly Control:

1 cup of apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon of dish soap
For Mosquito Repellent:

1/4 cup of coconut oil
10 drops of citronella oil
5 drops of lavender oil
Instructions:
Insect Repellent Spray:

Combine 10-15 drops of your chosen essential oil with 1 cup of water in a spray bottle.
Add 1 tablespoon of witch hazel or rubbing alcohol to help the oils mix well.
Shake the bottle to mix the ingredients.
Spray the mixture around windows, doorways, and other areas where insects tend to enter, or on surfaces to repel bugs naturally.
Ant Bait:

In a bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of borax, 1/2 cup of sugar, and 1/4 cup of water to create a sugary solution.
Soak cotton balls in the mixture and place them in areas where you notice ant activity. The sugar attracts the ants, and the borax disrupts their digestive system, leading to their removal.
Alternatively, you can pour the mixture into a shallow container for the ants to access easily.
Rodent Repellent:

Soak cotton balls or small pieces of cloth in peppermint oil or any strong-smelling essential oil of your choice.
Place these soaked cotton balls or cloths near entry points like cracks, holes, or baseboards, as well as in areas where rodents are commonly seen.
The strong aroma repels rodents and encourages them to leave.
