Every time my dad comes over, he’s always asking for this recipe. He loves it so much!

1 lb ground beef
1 large onion, diced.
1 head cabbage, finely chopped.
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp caraway seeds (optional)
2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough.
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese.
Directions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the meat is browned and the onion is tender. Drain excess grease.
3. Stir in the chopped cabbage and continue cooking until the cabbage is soft. Season with salt, pepper, and caraway seeds if using.
4. Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish, covering the bottom and stretching slightly up the sides.
5. Evenly spread the beef and cabbage mixture over the crescent roll dough. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top.
6. Cover with the remaining crescent roll dough, unrolling and pressing the dough to cover the filling.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and cooked through.
8. Remove from oven and let sit for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve hot.
Variations & Tips
For a twist on this classic, try adding some smoked paprika to the beef mixture for a hint of smoky flavor. If you’re looking to add more vegetables, diced bell peppers or mushrooms can be sautéed with the cabbage. For cheese lovers, experimenting with different types of cheese like Swiss or sharp cheddar can lend different flavor profiles to the dish.
