Homemade Pickled Beets Recipe

Pickled beets are a vibrant, tangy treat that adds color and flavor to salads, sandwiches, or a simple snack plate. Ingredients:
8 medium fresh beets

1 cup white vinegar

1 cup water

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/2 teaspoon whole cloves (optional)

1 cinnamon stick (optional)

2 bay leaves

Instructions:
Wash the beets thoroughly and trim off the tops and roots.

Place the beets in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until tender, about 30–40 minutes.

Drain the beets and let them cool slightly. Peel the skins off (they should slip off easily).
