3. When they reach about 3-4 inches tall, thin out the seedlings, keeping only the strongest ones.
Step 5: Transplanting
1. After the seedlings have grown their true leaves and are about 6 inches tall, they can be transplanted into larger containers.
2. Choose a container that is at least 16-20 inches deep and wide. Ensure it has adequate drainage.
3. Use a rich, loamy soil mix and ensure proper spacing to accommodate the vine’s growth.
Step 6: Maintenance and Harvesting
1. Support the growing vines with stakes or a trellis to encourage upward growth.
2. Fertilize the plants every four weeks during the growing season.
3. Prune the vines in late winter to promote new growth and better fruit production.
4. Expect fruiting to start from the third year; harvest grapes when they are fully colored and slightly soft to the touch.
