Mom’s Beloved Classic Cookie Recipe

Introduction:
I finally got this recipe from my mom last Christmas and made three batches! I always loved it as a kid, and honestly, no one can live without it once they try it. I always thought Aunt Bill was a distant relative, so I was surprised to find out this isn’t just a family recipe—it’s actually a pretty famous one! Keep following if you want to keep getting my special recipes… Thanks!

Ingredients:

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

Optional: chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruit for variation

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.

Fold in any optional add-ins like chocolate chips or nuts if you like.
