My French friend showed me this recipe, and it’s been a hit every since!
The recipe calls for four skinless, boneless chicken breasts.
– Season with salt and pepper according to your taste – In a tablespoon of olive oil – Mince four garlic cloves
2-1/2 cups of whole-grain mustard-One cup of chicken broth
1/4 cup of mustard dressing
– Half a cup of full-fat milk
– Half a cup of sour cream
– Chopped fresh thyme, 1 tablespoon – Chopped fresh parsley, 1 tablespoon (plus more for garnish)
What to do
1. Coat the chicken breasts with a good amount of salt and pepper.
2. Brown the chicken breasts in a large pan over medium heat, approximately 2-3 minutes each side, using the olive oil. Put the stew pot on low heat.
3. Sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute, or until it begins to release its aroma, in the same skillet. After brown parts have been scraped from the pan, add the chicken stock and boil for a few minutes.
Finally, pour the sauce over the chicken in the slow cooker after stirring in the whole grain mustard and Dijon mustard.
5. Once the chicken is seasoned and cooked through, cover and simmer on low for four to five hours.
Gather the heavy and sour creams in a small basin and mix them together when the cooking time is almost over. Add the ingredients to the slow cooker and stir gently to incorporate.
7. Cook for another 20-30 minutes, then add the chopped thyme. Simmer until the sauce thickens and is hot.
8. To finish off the chicken, top it with a sprinkling of fresh parsley.
A lower-fat alternative would be to use Greek yogurt in place of the heavy cream and sour cream; however, be careful to whisk it in shortly before serving to prevent curdling.
– A If you’re cooking for someone who isn’t a big fan of mustard or has a mild taste, you may tone down the whole grain mustard to 1/3 cup.
– A A spoonful of honey blended into the sauce may provide a subtle sweetness, striking a beautiful balance. – Feel free to try this recipe with other meats like pork loin or turkey cutlets.
– A Keep a close check on the chicken the first time you cook it in a slow cooker to make sure it doesn’t cook too long since slow cookers might differ. We are striving for a moist and delicate atmosphere!
Adjust as you think is necessary, and enjoy the experience of preparing a food that brings pleasure and love into your house; after all, cooking is all about satisfying your family’s taste buds. Everyone who sits down to this Slow Cooker Creamy French Mustard Chicken will feel loved and cared for, and the dinner itself will be a welcome relief.
