From boosting your immune system to easing digestive discomfort, this spicy and aromatic tea can be a powerhouse addition to your wellness routine. In this article, we’ll explore five reasons why you should make ginger tea a part of your daily habits, and how it can positively impact your health.
Ingredients
1-2 inches of fresh ginger root (or 1 teaspoon ground ginger)
2 cups water
1-2 teaspoons honey or lemon juice (optional, for sweetness)
A pinch of cinnamon (optional, for flavor)
Instructions
Prepare the Ginger:
If using fresh ginger root, peel the ginger and slice it into thin pieces. If you are using ground ginger, simply measure out 1 teaspoon of the powder.
Boil the Water:
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a small saucepan or kettle.
Add the Ginger:
Once the water is boiling, add the ginger slices (or ground ginger) into the water. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors and active compounds to infuse into the water.
Strain the Tea:
After the tea has steeped, strain out the ginger slices (if using fresh ginger). If you used ground ginger, you can leave it in the tea or strain it based on your preference.
Sweeten (Optional):
Add honey or a squeeze of lemon juice for sweetness. You can also add a pinch of cinnamon for extra flavor and additional health benefits.
