I know it sounds odd, but after hearing her reasoning and trying it myself, I’m convinced. Let me share her clever trick and how you can make it work in your own kitchen.
Ingredients:
1 pack of dishwashing tablets (choose your preferred brand)
1-2 mason jars or airtight containers for storage
Access to a sink and hot water
A little elbow grease (for some cleaning!)
Instructions:
Buy the Tablets: Head to your local store and buy a pack of dishwashing tablets. They come in different brands and formulas, but any standard dishwasher tablet should do. If you prefer eco-friendly options, those are widely available as well.
Rethink the Purpose: Here’s where the magic happens: you don’t need a dishwasher to use these tablets! Simply use them as a cleaning agent for your regular handwashing. You can break them up and use them to clean pots, pans, and even heavily soiled utensils.
Use the Tablet in Hot Water: Fill your sink with hot water and drop the tablet into the water. Let it dissolve for a few moments to activate the cleaning agents. Once it’s dissolved, begin washing your dishes like normal, using the soapy water to scrub off food residue.
Soak the Dishes: For tough stains or greasy dishes, let them soak in the soapy solution for a while. The dishwasher tablet will break down the grease and grime, making it much easier to scrub away.
Rinse and Dry: Once you’ve cleaned all your dishes, rinse them thoroughly to remove any remaining soap. Dry them as usual, and enjoy sparkling clean dishes with minimal effort!
