When we turn on the air conditioner, it is able to capture the humidity present in the environment and expel it in the form of drops of water which are then released into the exhaust pipe and collected in tin, glass or plastic bottles.
How many times have you also collected the water generated by the air conditioner and thrown it away? Don’t do it again. Below, we suggest some ideas that will allow you to best reuse the water in the air conditioner, thus avoiding wasting it.
If you are wondering if the water generated by air conditioners is drinkable, the answer is no. You should absolutely never do this because the liquid generated by this machine is not drinkable as it contains impurities caused by the air, especially if insects, pollen are circulating in a domestic environment or if you smoke. The water will be affected by these elements and will therefore be impure.
However, you can reuse the water from the air conditioner for the environment or for household cleaning. Generally, a new generation air conditioner is capable of producing from 1 to 6 liters of water per hour. However, production varies depending on the degree of humidity present in the home environment. In a day you could collect up to ten liters of water.
Professors from a Colombian university performed Analyzes on the water produced by air conditioners. Their studies led to these results: although it is not drinkable, the water generated by the air conditioner has chemical and physical characteristics that allow it to be reused at home.
