3. In a another small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, whole milk, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until the mixture is well combined.
4. Coat the macaroni mixture evenly by pouring the dressing over it and tossing.
Make sure the flavors have combined by chilling the salad for at least an hour before serving.
Toss the salad well before serving, and if necessary, add more salt and pepper based on texture.
Notes and Modifications
To spice things up, try adding some cooked and crumbled bacon or chopped hard-boiled eggs. To change up the texture of the dressing, some people decide to add shredded cheddar cheese or a mixture of sour cream and mayonnaise. Use low-fat mayonnaise or a combination of mayonnaise and Greek yogurt for a healthier alternative.
