The singer has a special attachment to France. For several years, she worked with Jean-Jacques Goldman. Moreover, the latter has not always been very tender with her.

It’s been over four years since Celine Dion last performed on stage. The star kept canceling her concerts without giving a reason. Finally, it was through a video posted on her Instagram page that the diva told what was happening to her. Celine Dion is indeed suffering from stiff man syndrome. This very rare disease affects one in a million people. It causes violent spasms in the muscles of the person affected. In a documentary unveiled on Prime Video, the singer of  My Heart Will Go On  revealed shocking images of her fight. We can notably see her in crisis and no longer able to move.

A few weeks ago, she gave an exclusive interview during the 8pm news on TF1. Céline Dion told French viewers that she wanted to get back on stage for her fans. This Friday, July 26, 2024, the singer created a surprise by making an appearance at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. At the end of the evening, she was on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower to sing Edith Piaf’s song, L’hymne à l’amour. A moment that particularly moved the French.

France and Celine Dion, a great story

Céline Dion and France, it’s a great love story. The singer made her first appearance on French TV on Michel Drucker’s show  Champs Élysées,  on January 29, 1983. Very quickly, the young woman experienced real success. She released French-language albums to stay close to her French audience. Moreover, many of them were written by Jean-Jacques Goldman. The composer was with her for a large part of her career. In 1995, the album  D’eux  was released in France and the title  Pour que tu m’aimes encore  was an immediate success. During the recording of this song, Jean-Jacques Goldman was very frank with the singer.
