Spicy Papaya Seed Vinaigrette – A Gut-Healthy, Budget-Friendly Dressing

Introduction:
Papaya seeds are often tossed out, but these tiny black gems are packed with digestive enzymes, antioxidants, and natural antibacterial properties. When blended into a spicy vinaigrette, they create a zesty, peppery flavor that rivals gourmet dressings—without the high price tag. This recipe transforms waste into wellness while keeping your meals vibrant and flavorful.

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons fresh papaya seeds (rinsed and lightly crushed)

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for balance)

1 garlic clove, minced

1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Optional: 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes or a dash of hot sauce for heat

Instructions:
Rinse the papaya seeds thoroughly and lightly crush them with a mortar and pestle or the back of a spoon.

In a blender or small food processor, combine all ingredients. Blend until emulsified, about 30 seconds.
