Delicious Homemade Caramel Pecan Bars

Introduction:
These caramel pecan bars are a perfect balance of rich, buttery flavor and crunchy pecans, all wrapped up in a sweet caramel layer. My family couldn’t stop raving about how delicious they were, and I’m already planning to make a bigger batch next time! Whether you’re hosting a gathering or just craving something indulgent, these bars are sure to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth.

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

½ cup granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

¼ tsp salt

2 cups pecans, chopped

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1 ½ cups packed brown sugar

¼ cup unsalted butter

1 tsp vanilla extract

¼ tsp salt

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper and set it aside.

In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, softened butter, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until the mixture forms a dough.

Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

While the crust bakes, prepare the caramel filling. In a saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, brown sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally, until the butter melts and the mixture becomes smooth.

Once the crust is done, remove it from the oven and evenly spread the chopped pecans over the top. Pour the caramel mixture over the pecans, ensuring it’s evenly spread.

Return the pan to the oven and bake for another 20-25 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbling and golden brown.

Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before slicing them into squares.

Serving and Storage Tips:

Let the bars cool completely before cutting to prevent the caramel from being too sticky.

Store the caramel pecan bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or refrigerate them for longer shelf life.

For an added treat, serve these bars with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
