Introduction:
You may not realize it, but that guava tree in your compound is more than just a fruit provider—it’s a goldmine of health! Guava leaves are rich in antioxidants, anti-inflammatory agents, and antibacterial properties. In this recipe, we’ll turn these humble leaves into a powerful wellness tea that supports digestion, lowers blood sugar, boosts immunity, and promotes healthy skin.
Ingredients:
10 fresh guava leaves (washed thoroughly)
4 cups of water
1 tablespoon of honey (optional, for sweetness)
1 teaspoon of lemon juice (optional, for added flavor)
Instructions:
Rinse the guava leaves thoroughly to remove any dust or insects.
In a pot, bring the 4 cups of water to a boil.
Add the guava leaves to the boiling water and reduce the heat to a simmer.
Let the leaves simmer for 10–15 minutes until the water reduces slightly and turns a light greenish-brown.
Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
Strain the tea into a cup or jar.
Add honey or lemon juice if desired.
