350g spaghetti
2 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes or diced peeled tomatoes
1 tsp sugar (optional, to reduce acidity)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil (or you can use fresh basil)
Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, to serve)
