Introduction:
These cream cheese puff pastries are deceptively simple yet wildly impressive. With their golden, flaky exterior and sweet, creamy filling, they look like they came straight from a bakery. Perfect for brunches, dessert platters, or just a treat-yourself moment, they’re guaranteed to wow anyone who tries them. I’ve been making these for years, and without fail, they vanish within minutes!
Ingredients:
For the pastry:
1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
4 oz (113g) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg (for egg wash)
Optional toppings:
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Fresh berries or jam
Lemon zest or chocolate drizzle
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
Roll out the puff pastry and cut into squares (around 3×3 inches).
Place a spoonful of cream cheese filling in the center of each square.
Fold the corners toward the center to seal, or twist for a decorative shape.
