In a large skillet or sauté pan, heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil over medium heat.
Add the sausage, breaking it into small crumbles as it cooks. Sauté for 7–9 minutes or until fully cooked and lightly browned. You want those golden-brown bits for added flavor.
Once cooked, remove sausage with a slotted spoon and set aside. Drain any excess grease, leaving about 1 tablespoon in the pan for the sauce base.
Step 2: Cook the Noodles
Meanwhile, bring a medium pot of water to a boil.
Add your ramen noodles (discard the flavor packets if using instant noodles) and cook until just tender, about 2–3 minutes. Drain, rinse lightly, and set aside.
Tip: Toss the cooked noodles with a little oil to prevent sticking.
Step 3: Build the Sauce

Once melted, add 1 teaspoon minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant—don’t let it brown.
Stir in:
2 teaspoons hoisin sauce
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon gochujang
Let these bubble and combine for about 1 minute, stirring to form a glossy, dark sauce.
Reduce heat to low, then add:
